anyway i can setup a canon iP1500 pixma with OS X El Capitan 10.11.6

Hello! As title mentions I am having trouble setting up the printer, trying looking online for a driver but I see its not supported ... I would appreciate any help.

Yes Canon only has drivers for mac up to Mac OS X Snow Leopard (10.6)

you could try downloading them and see if you can get printing.

Otherwise you could download Gutenprint and see if their printer drivers

version 5.3.3 will get you printing.

I'm not surprised you're having trouble. This 2004 printer is obsolete. Its manual says it works with 10.3 Panther which was released in 2003. The last Mac OS for which drivers were issued was 10.5 (2007) or CUPS software for 10.6


It's not going to work with El Capitan.


I had a look on Gutenprint too but the IP 1500 is not in the list of supported printers.
