How to add a contact to Home Screen to make a quick phone call.
I don’t see in the new widgets how to make a quick contact for phone calls. What happened to that function before this last update of widget stacker.

The "Favorites" widget has been removed. You can let Apple know you'd like to see it back here:
Meanwhile, you can use Siri to make calls, you can add third party widgets, you can call from the Favorites tap in the phone app.
