DVD created by Toast-DVD not readable

As a test case, I dragged a .mov clip and a .MPG clip into the Toast DVD 2.4.3 Content Area, with Video button pushed and DVD-Video drop down chosen. On the right, Options is chosen, Format is DVD-Video, and Menu Style is no menus. Quality is Good, and I selected Auto-play, and Play continuously. Destination Disk Image. Hit the red Save button. It makes the disk image document. Click that and get the disk image. When I burn a DVD-R disc from either (using the Finder pop up menu), it plays on my Mac, but not on my Sony Blu-ray player, which is good at reading discs normally. Any thoughts?

All of this is in the North America region, using NTSC. MacOS is ver 10.15.7.

Hi, Richard,

This looks more like a Toast or Sony Blu-ray player issue than an iMovie issue. I don't use Toast, so cannot comment on its functionality or settings.

Is it possible that you burned a data DVD rather than an authored movie DVD? If so, the data DVD might not play on a DVD player unless the player has settings for it. If this isn't the issue I'll defer to others who might chime in here with some suggestions.
