Active calories same as total calories?

Hey all,


I am a new Apple Watch user. I switched over from a fitbit specifically to better track my runs and calories. Now I understand the difference between active and total calories. For all my runs though, why does the active calories always equals the total calories? That doesn’t seem right to me. For other activities like walking or functional workouts, the total calories are always understandably greater than the active calories.
