Blinking Folder Solved in MacBook Air

Finally, my Macbook air was already working again.

If you’re experiencing blinking folder, make sure to do the following Steps:

  1. Check your laptop if there’s anything you can do first like freeing up space, formatting (make sure to back up your files before doing so), and the likes.
  2. If you have done necessary steps, yet the blinking folder still persists, take note of your laptop’s details. (Year of release - 2020, Model - A1466, Type - Air or Pro)
  3. Research on the specifications of your SSD.
  4. Make sure to buy your SSD from a legitimate seller of your desired brand. Got mine from MacSales.com and purchased OWC 500 GB.
  5. If you think you can change the SSD on your own, then you can fix your laptop or seek assistance from a technician if needed.

Note: I am not in anyway related to MacSales.com, OWC, and Apple. Make sure to conduct your own due diligence.

You are referring to a 2020 device?

Which means that it is still covered by Apple's warranty.

Therefore, it is indeed very bad advice to recommend people buy and install their own SSD since they will be voiding their warranty unless it is done by Apple or an authorized service provider (and you will not be able to bring your own SSD). Here is a link to the factory warranty:

And, FYI, if there is a blinking folder upon boot up, that means the device cannot find a startup disk, so your instructions won't work since you will need to install an OS first.
