how can you transfer saved PDF files from a broken Mac book ( Apple Tech were unable to get it to charge or start) , and how much would it cost if it can be done

how do you back up mac book that isnt working I need to send the macbook in for repair is it possible to back it up even thought the screen is black so cant actually access on the machine itself

Deleted imovie app. All files gone. Any way to retrieve? I worked on an imovie project for weeks. Macbook told me I had to free up space. Accidentally deleted the imovie app which contained the entire edit and footage. Finding answers online isn't easy because each one says something that contradicts the one before it or wants to sell me a product. I have Time Machine. But my Time Machine offers no back ups. Is there any easy way to retrieve my old imovie files that doesn't require a programming degree? Thanks.

Pull the drive and put it in an external enclosure. Access it from a working Mac. You can do it yourself, if you know how.
