Broken Charging Cable (Still Safe To Use?)
There’s a little exposed part of the connector’s circuit board, is it still safe to use?

Why Risk a Damaged Device?
There is quite a bit of residue in there. So, I'd say: No. Get and use a new cable. It doesn't have to be Apple brand, but based of prior experiences, going brand-for-brand is most reliable. So, getting a and using new cable of Apple brand for this is the way to go from here.
Unfortunately my 3rd party charging cable is not supported by my ipad
