overheating

My iphone 12 heats up everytime I charge my py phone with the apple 20w charger. Is this an issue?

It your iPhone (or any device) that gets too hot to touch then it is an issue. If your iPhone 12 is getting warm to touch while charging, at times, is normal behavior. You are using a 20W charger which fast charges your iPhone until the charging settles down and therefore your iPhone will feel warm to touch during the first minutes of the charging session.
