Most efficient way to eliminate music downloads

Hello... I've got 500G of music that's been piling up here on my macs, for ages.

Since I now use Apple Music, I would doubt I need to have probably 95% of this on my hard drive. What's the most efficient and effective way (if there is one) of getting rid of the music i have on my file, and replacing it with the identical music on Apple, in the Cloud?

Thanks in advance for your help

Backup your whole library to an external drive for security.

See Identify cloud status icons in your music library on your Mac or PC - Apple Support.

Check that all of your music is marked as either Matched or Uploaded.

Select content that you want to offload, right-click, and use Remove Download.
