iPad Air 4 - can't figure out how to restart

I'm sure this is a super dumb question but I'm holding down the top button, tried holding it down along with volume button(s) but no luck I never get the slider to shut down. I'm sure the answer is in front of me but I can't find it; the Apple article I found doesn't cover the Air https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT210631.

On an iPad with a Home button: Press and hold the top button and the Home button at the same time. When the Apple logo appears, release both buttons.
On an iPad with Face ID: Press and quickly release the volume up button, press and quickly release the volume down button, then press and hold the top button. When the Apple logo appears, release the button.
