Not Receiving Text Messages From Android Users

I recently switched from a Samsung Galaxy to an iPhone and I have noticed that I don't receive text messages from my contacts that are Samsung users. I still have my Galaxy S9+ in my possession, as I am preparing it to trade it in and I receive the text messages from these individuals on this phone still, despite only having wifi and no cellular service on it (the cellular service has been transferred to my iPhone). Does anyone have any ideas why this is happening? I receive messages from Samsung users who are parts of group messages on my iPhone, but not individual messages. Any help would be appreciated!

Hi Brian,

Thank you for your reply!

I was actually able to figure it out. It was an issue with the chat setting in the Google (Android) messaging app. I believe it’s their equivalent to iMessage and once I turned it off, I didn’t have any more problems receiving messages from them.

Hello Matt_Resp_Therapy,

It sounds like you're having some issues receiving SMS messages from Android users since switching to an iPhone. Group messages work as expected, but not individual thread.

Start with the steps listed in this guide.

If only your SMS messages are affected, you should reach out to your carrier for further assistance.

Take care!
