IPhone 14 Pro will not send or receive a Text if there are non-Apple devices included

I have tried all the recommended changes and I am updated to IOS16.1.1

I can send a solo text to an Android device and receive text from a solo Android device. However, if trying to send a group text (which includes Android) it will “not deliver”. If a group tries to send me a text with Android devices included I will not receive the text. The text can even originate from an iPhone 13 and if Androids are included it will not come through.

I have turned iMessage on and off.

I have confirmed the phone number being used.

I have done a hard power down/up on the phone.

I have reset all Network connections

iMessage is turned on

Send as SMS is turned on

MMS messaging is turned on

Group messaging is turned on

Filter unknown senders is turned off

Send read receipts is turned off

Clearly Apple has a problem that needs to be admitted with a forecasted date for a software fix.

Thanks for the help,

Steve

When you activate an iPhone 14 on Verizon their automated system does not set up MMS correctly. To fix it you need to call Verizon tech support (611 on your phone), tell the nice representative who answers that you need to speak to a senior tech to fix a problem with the provisioning of MMS on your account; specifically, the MMS setting needs to be synced to the network. This is a universal problem with the iPhone 14 provisioning by Verizon, so the tech should know how to fix it. And hopefully the 1st tier reps will eventually learn also. Long story short...I spent a while with Apple and they checked my phone's software and hardware and settings. They sent me to Verizon, my carrier, for further assistance. After spending a little more than an hour with Verizon's tier one support, and getting nowhere, I asked for a tier two support tech. In a little bit, the tier two tech made some changes to my Verizon account and the issue was resolved. Not sure what the tier two tech did, but the issue was on Verizon's end. All is well now.

Me too since I updated 16.3.1 software update. I can send a solo text to android and receive text from them. If I send to my 2 sons for example 1 has iPhone other has android the android does NOT receive the text. I'm not sure if you call this a Group messaage sine I just place both numbers/names in the To: section. Now the kicker, my wife and I have the XR iphones, our settings>messages>imessage ON, send read receipts ON, Send is SMS OFF (but have tried on and it fails), MMS ON, Group ON. She can send to both sons as entered both numbers/names and is successful! I can NOT with the same settings! I have been a Iphone user for many years and have had this phone for 3 years with no issues until the 16.3.1 update. Main discovery is my wife has NOT update to 16.3.1 as I have???

I have a new iPhone 14, iOS 16.2. iMessage has been turn off/on. Send/Receive addresses have been verified. MMS and Group Messaging have both been turned off/on. Send as SMS has been turned off/on. Network settings have been reset. iPhone has been shut down and restarted.

I still cannot send a text to a group that has iPhone & non-Apple devices. Neither can I send a text to a group that has only non-Apple devices. I get an error "Not delivered" with a red exclamation (!). "Your message was not sent. Tap "try again" to send this message." The only other option is "Cancel".

I can send a text to a single non-Apple recipient. I can send a text to an all iPhone group.

Can anyone offer any help as to how to send texts to mixed Apple/non-Apple recipients in a group or all non-Apple recipients in a group?

Thanks

I

I'm having the same issue with my new iphone 14 Pro. Tried chat support and called twice. My latest apple support person advised I call my carrier to make sure my phone is set up for this?? I don't understand because my carrier plan has not changed, and my old iphone XR worked with messaging just fine. I don't understand at what point is apple going to help its' customers. Very frustrating to spend ridiculous money on a brand new phone only to have it not work. I've missed really important/sensitive texts because of this issue. Has anybody gotten any help regarding this matter?
