Apple Arcade and Screen Time breaking multiplayer

I have ‘content and privacy restrictions’ turned on for my kids iPads so they can't install apps have access to Mail etc but this means the multiplayer function in the Apple Arcade apps won’t work. I’ve tried changing all different settings but the only way I have got the multiplayer to work is to completely turn off the content and privacy restrictions which I obviously don’t want to do as this is one of the benefits of Screen Time. It’s driving me mad.
