My sister had her phone (iPhone SE 2020) set down on the couch, and she picked it back up to a black screen. The screen was still lit up but there was nothing being displayed. Sounds and vibrations are still being played. I have tried all of the obvious methods such as: Force restarting the phone. Any other suggestions?

You mentioned you have tried doing a force restart already. That is a great step to take if the device is not responding as expected. Did the device turn off or show an Apple logo when you tried the force restart? Normally a force restart would be the step to take to resolve an issue like this.
