Lost Time Machine Encryption Password

The password for my Time Machine drive is in my keychain. But when my Mac was serviced, they installed a new logic board, so it has a new SSD. I can't unlock my Time Machine backup in order to restore the computer. Is there any way to fix this?

Time Machine no longer requires a password! Hi all. My Time Machine is on an encrypted drive. At startup, Time Mchine displays a dialog asking for the (encryption?) password. However, if I do not enter a password, eventually Time Machine mounts the drive anyway. Is this secure??? If someone was to take my Time Machine external disk, could they access my backup data??? How to un-encrypt my Time Machine back up disk I have an external USB hard drive that I back up to using Time Machine. I've been using the disk for years. I've just noticed in the Time Machine preferences that it says the disk is 'encrypted'. I presume this means that I must have set up a password for the disk so that if someone plugs the disk into a different computer they can not access my files without the password? Trouble is I can't remember what the password is. How do I un-encrypt my disk / TM backups? Do I have to use Disk Utilities to wipe the disk clean and then resume TM? That could take hours...

Lost password of Lacie external backup drive, set up with Time Machine I used Time Machine to setup and backup my MacBook Pro on my Lacie external backup drive, but I no longer recall the password to access the drive. Due to it being encrypted, there is no way of recovering the backup. I would to restore the external drive to factory settings, to be able to use it again. I contacted Seagate/Lacie support, and since I did the initial backup setup with Time Machine, they advised me to request support on this from Apple Support.
