iPad Air 4 Battery Drain

Hi, I got an iPad air for drawing and the battery has been draining very quickly when the screen is off, almost as if the screen was still on. The only app I have is procreate and I have a apple pencil 2 paired with it. Any help would be appreciated.

I noticed the same thing on the 1st cover I purchased and soon realized that the magnet built into the cover was not properly lined up with the iPad's sensor. You can easily tell by experimenting with some small magnets and determine exactly where the cover's magnet is. Another issue I noted was slack in the cover's spine. When you close the cover, the the cover's spine isn't tight against the iPad's left edge, the magnet (in the opposite corner) will not line up with the sensor in the iPad. I switched to a Fintie brand cover (I had good luck with their covers for prior iPads) for my new iPad Air 4 and theirs works perfectly. I sent the other cover I bought (from a different company.. I can't remember the brand now) back as I had the same issues as you. I'd suggest trying a Fintie brand cover and see how that works.

I still have the battery drain issues even with a new iPad Air 4. I got Apple to replace my original one and still have the issues. I have reset my unit back to factory default several times and re-installed many fewer apps on it. Apple says to expect about 10 hrs. of battery life with this unit. Not sure what else to try since Apple seems to still not acknowledge an issue.

I lose about 1% every 2 minutes with wifi and bluetooth OFF and screen brightness set to about 40~45%. I don't have an Apple pen so that isn't affecting me at all. I have auto-updates for apps turned off. I've never used my iPad for 10 hours straight but I know there is no way my battery would provide the life advertised by Apple for the iPad Air 4. I think I'd get about 3 hrs out of a full charge if I used it non-stop for that amount of time with wifi and bluetooth each turned off.
