My HP Envy Photo 7164 printer is no longer working. I received pop-up warnings that some drivers connected to HP could damage my computer. The printer is only 2 years old, as is my Mac. please help!

My 2 year old HP Envy Photo 7164 printer is no longer working. I received pop-up warnings that some HP drivers could damage my computer so I deleted them but now I can't get anything to print. When I go to Settings and look at the printer, it shows the printer but it shows up as Idle. Also when I try to print, I get an "out of paper" message, but there is paper in there. Help please!

Open >System Preferences>Software Update (Command R will reload and do a fresh check)

Update: HP Printer Software 5.1 should now be becoming available through Software Update to fix this issue.

if you still have an issue, delete the existing printer in

> System Preferences> Printers & Scanners, and add it again, select AirPrint.
