Adobe Flash Update Prompt

I had previously set Adobe Flash Player preferences to notify me of updates, as I preferred to install them manually when prompted. After I installed Safari 14 awhile back I found (after several attempts) that I could no longer update the Adobe Flash Player. I would attempt the usual update process, but the installation wouldn't occur. After researching this online I discovered that Safari 14 no longer supported Adobe Flash Player. At that point I removed the Flash Player my MacBook Pro System Preferences. Problem solved--I thought. Except now I continue to receive Flash Player update notices periodically that pop up every few minutes, and I have to keep deleting them by clicking on the red dot on the upper left corner of the flash screen. Apparently even Adobe is going to stop supporting their Flash Player at the end of 2020. In the meantime, is there any way to permanently stop the Adobe Flash Player update prompt?

Do you have an Adobe Flash Player Uninstaller application in your /Applications/Utilities folder? Click on your Desktop, and then press shift+command+U. That is the tool that will thoroughly remove Adobe Flash Player cruft from your Mac, and stop any legitimate pop-ups from the real Adobe.
