iPhone photos appearing as grey thumbnails when importing to MacOS Photos

Hello

When I attempt to import my photos from my iPhone in to the Photos app on MacOS, they all appear as grey thumbnails, as below. This has only begun to happen in the last couple of weeks.

I am running Catalina 10.15.7 and Photos Version 5.0 (161.0.120)

iMac, OS X 10.10

@jjosiah, I upgraded my iPhone to ios 14.2 and this appears to have fixed the problem.

I have the same problem! And same exact version of Catalina and Photos... seems to be something is going on!
