iphone called someone on Facetime when I dialled the emergency services

Hi,

Last week we had an emergency and had to dial for an ambulance.

We quickly dialled 112 (the emergency number here in Sweden) but then noticed the phone had, instead, chosen to make a facetime call to a contact in our address book!

For the life of me I can't figure out how this happened and can only assume its a bug ( and a pretty big one!!)

Has anyone else encountered this?

Thanks.

Hello Matt Dixon,

It sounds like your iPhone FaceTimed a contact after using Emergency SOS?

Here are some resources that might help.

  • Use Emergency SOS on your iPhone Was this a contact added to your emergency contacts? If so, is there a way this could have happened when the text message was sent?

  • If this doesn't explain it, then you may want to contact Apple Support for assistance: Get Support

Hope this information helps.

Have a good day.
