No Mountable File Systems after setting firmware password

Hello,

After setting a firmware password on my Macbook Air 1932, I cannot open .dmg files. I get the error, "The following disk images couldn't be opened - no mountable file systems". I thought this may have been a hardware error so I started working on another Mac for my business but it did the same thing. Both Macs have filevault turned on but everything worked as expected until I turned the firmware password on via MDM.

Any help would be great!

Thanks!

MacBook

Run Disk Utility First Aid on the drive. Even if First Aid shows everything is "Ok" click on the "Show Details" and check to see if there are any unfixed errors listed.

Try downloading the .dmg file again as maybe you got a damaged or corrupt file. Try downloading the file using a different browser.

I've had a couple of our organization's Macs which could not open downloaded .dmg & .zip files. I had to end up erasing the drive and reinstalling macOS. I didn't bother trying to just reinstall macOS over top of itself since I suspected a file system issue was the cause.

If you are trying to open the exact same file on both machines it implies the file is damaged or corrupt.
