Epson Photo R300 printer driver
I haven't used my Epson Photo R300 in a while. My Mac Pro, running 10.11.6, sees my printer when I go to add printer. But I can't find a compatible driver for it in the Printer Software list. Even after I manually installed the epson software installer. When I do a software update, or an Epson software update, I get a message of No Updates Available. I also tried checking to see available software updates through terminal softwareupdates --list. But it comes up with No Updates Available.
How do I get the driver, for this particular printer, to come up on the Printer Software list? Or is it so old, it's no longer supported on 10.11.6? I wouldn't think so, as the Photo R300 is still part of the compatible Epson printer list for El Capitan.
I did try using one of the available drivers on the list. The Epson 24-Pin Series. But when I go to print, nothing happens. I can see in the print job appear in the print status window. But then it disappears, and nothing is printed. If I use the Epson Printer Utility Software, I'm able to access the printer. Including levels, and cleaning.
However, I am getting a message to replace some ink cartridges. But also said, I can still continue printing. The cartridges are almost empty but not quite.
