How do you copy files (other than photos, videos and contacts) from an iPad Pro to a Sandisk iXpand drive?

It is possible! I seldom post anything, but the Sandisk instructions on how to do this are so cryptic and hard to find that I must offer others the benefit of my hours of searching for a way to do it.

1. Install the iXpand app and connect the device. Then open the file you want copy to the iXpand drive. I know it sounds crazy, but yes, you must open the file in its application.

2. Select the “Share” option (the box with an arrow pointing up).

3. The iXpand drive should appear as a choice. Select it. At this point you should see an iXpand window open, asking where to put the file on the iXpand drive. You have the option of creating a new folder on the drive or you can just put the file on the existing list. Note: if you want to create a new folder, turn the iPad to the portrait position. There is a bug in the iXpand app that won’t allow the keyboard to open in the landscape position.
