Iphone bluetooth audio not working with bmw

I recently experienced a problem with my apple music on my iphone (it started saying that songs were not available in my region). I managed to fix this by just signing out and back into my apple I.D, however, around the same time my BMW and iphone stopped syncing bluetooth audio properly. The car and Iphone appear to connect fine, however the car will only play approx 1 song before the audio and connection drops out.

I have tried everything, including getting a new Iphone 12 and having the software in my car updated (the car works with other phones and my phone works with other cars). It appears to only be an issue between my iphone and car. Any suggestions would be welcome?
