Is that possible. To restore to iOS 13.3 again? I want it so much!

In my opinion Apple are trying to pull a fast one again and encourage users of older phones to upgrade. My IPhone 6s Plus was fine on iOS 13. Now the battery last 1/2 a day and they are saying the only was to solve it is to wipe my phone and restore to an older version. However, newer phone don’t appear to be suffering from the same issues.

Installed IOS 14.2 on I-Pad Air 2 last night. Since doing it, battery drains about 20% faster and moreover, it is now taking an eternity to charge. Before update would charge from 30% to full in about 2 hours, now took 4 hours to go from 28% to 60%. Bloody nightmare.

I don’t have an I-phone. I only posted this on here to remark that the problem is not just isolated to I-phone 11 and that the issue may be an IOS generic problem which may give you I-phone 11 users some more ammunition!

I have the same problem as you.

“Optimized battery charging” toggles itself on (after being turned off) after turning iPhone off and back on.

This started after IOS 14.2 installed to my iPhone XS MAX, also high battery drain, battery health is 98%.

14.2 is draining my battery and making my iPhone 11 hot, not as bad as a couple updates ago when it was really bad and they fixed the issue right away with the new update but it is doing this again. I hope they come out with another version quickly that addresses this issue.

Percentage calculation might be wrong then, wait and see if the next update gets its calculation right as I still don’t think it’s right for that much loss in three months. I have the 11pro and 11 pro max both still at 💯 after 10 months so this could be an isolated issue with the 11

I believe you missed my point. iOS 14.2 (or any version of iOS) has nothing to do with a Mac. iOS is the operating system for iPhones, iPads and iPod Touches. 14.2 update - constant linear battery drain with zero activity recorded.

I have iPhone 8+, iPad pro 2015, and iPad Pro 2018. ONLY HAPPENS ON iPad PRO 2018. 

Even in airplane mode, iPad Pro 2018 draining battery. Back @85deg F, center above logo @95. For comparison iPad Pro 2015 @75 EVEN IN USE.

My iPad has been shut down 8 hours now and zero battery drain, so CS “need repair” response is absolute nonsense. It is obviously software not hardware. It must be some core task/process running all the time, I wonder what task[s] would run on a 2018 vs 2015 iPad pro 12.9? Same OS, same apps installed...

Only real software/interface difference I can see in settings are iMessage and “privacy warning” for wifi, but i disabled iMessage and put in airplane mode and battery drain still occurs in standby with zero “activity” logged.

Hi. Do you mean that the battery drain was fixed with ios 14.2? I am using iPhone 11 Pro with ios 14.0.1.
