iPhone won’t send pics to Android

Ever since the last iOS update I’ve lost the ability to send pictures to Android users. MMS is enabled, I’ve tried resetting network settings, and with iMessage turned off and on with nothing working. Had anyone else experienced this recently?

Apple engineers gave me a reply back finally and told me they suggest that I back up my iCloud and then I go into my settings - general - reset - erase all content and settings.

it worked, but I’m ****** I had to do that because of all of the unfavorable hoops Apple put me though during this process.

at first the man denied it’s an apple problem, “99% of the time it’s the carrier”.

and then I had to reach back out to them after they said they would call me.. which I didn’t receive, and now I have to redownload all of my apps again and set up my phone like I just spent $1000 bucks on a new phone.

For quite some time my iPhone has been unable to send photos or any attachments to android users. Today I went to the local Apple store and it is now fixed!!! Marcie, the Apple Genius, did a refresh of my OS, which took about 3 minutes. Afterwards, it works like a charm!! Only impact to my phone was to re-do Security code and Face ID (minimal!!). Highly recommend going to Apple if it is at all possible, as they can indeed fix it!

And again: WI-FI IS IRRELEVANT. MMS cannot use Wi-Fi, because MMS is a carrier service, and your carrier knows nothing about your Wi-Fi connection. Why is that so hard to understand? Why do people keep mentioning Wi-Fi when it has nothing at all to do with the problem?

What troubleshooting have you done? There’s a fair amount of information in this thread, including a recent post from someone who solved it. So reading the thread would be enlightening.

I have found through playing with settings that if I turn cellular data and iMessage both off and switch to airplane mode it usually works now when I’m home on strong WiFi.

I know that one poster in this thread is adamant that these messages can only go through with strong data signal but that isn’t my experience.

it’s still not 100% consistent but works about 90% when doing this. I just have to remember to switch it back when I leave my home and go out each time. Super frustrating but at least I can send images to my partner now who doesn’t use iPhone

I have been having this same issue for months and I will be buying an android. If Apple can’t fix the issue they have created I need to leave iPhone and move along. I have been an iPhone user for years. I use my iPhone for business and if I can’t communicate with pics to an android that is cutting my business in half. So long Apple it was nice knowing you.

At this point I don’t understand why you keep commenting the same thing. You are not helping in any way and this is affecting a lot of people. It’s an Apple issue whether you choose to believe that or not. It’s across every carrier. In case you missed my last update it usually works now ONLY when cellular data is turned off which completely debunks your theory it’s a cellular carrier problem.

Are you trying to get a job with Apple? Is that why you keep defending the lack of accountability and response from them?

The reason I repeat the same thing is that I have learned over many years of using ASC that when someone posts to an existing thread they NEVER read the thread first (well, hardly ever), so what I post that is a repeat for you is not a repeat to them. There’s a 100+ page thread about restore a disabled phone; the answer has been posted from 2 to 4 times on every page, the correct answer has been posted over 500 times, and yet people still ask the same question tagging on the the end of the thread.

That doesn’t change the fact that only your carrier can fix it.
