HomePod plays random songs after the one I ask for

How can I stop my HomePods from playing other songs after I've asked them to play one particular song?

I'll often ask a HomePod to play a particular track which is does ... but then it plays something else at random afterwards.

Really irritating.

Hello Richard Morris and welcome to Apple Support Communities. It appears you are having some difficulty playing just one song on HomePod.

By default, HomePod will continue to play music after you've asked to to begin. But if you include "and then stop playing music" after the name of the song you want to play, HomePod will play just one song and then stop.

Cheers.

Yeah - I've had this start happening, too. It's a change to the previous behaviour - previously if I asked for a song or an album, the HomePod would stop after that.

Now it plays random and unrequested music after the requested song / album - often songs I've never heard or played. Not even a genre I'd normally listen to and the track the other day had language that was completely inappropriate for the kids. I don't want to have to switch on safe mode. Hopefully this gets fixed...

I have the same problem. Siri is so incredibly dumb. This thing is a joke. It practically does nothing I ask and gets everything mixed up and wrong. My particular problem is, I have set an automated 5min track at bed time, but the dumb thing continues to play music after the automated track finishes playing. I want it to be my bed time song so obviously I don’t want the stupid thing to keep

playing music all night. It drives me baddy and ruins my sleep rather than help it.. I tried everything to stop it including stop after 5 min, one minute, two minutes. SHE WON’T STOP. I’m selling this piece of poo. Sorry, Siri is just so not a decent product. Lame
