How to update text messages in my MacBook pro

Is Text Message Forwarding set up on your iPhone?

Open Settings ➔ Messages ➔ Text Message Forwarding : Here you should see your Mac computer listed and switch turned to ON.

Also ensure that both you iPhone and your MacBook Pro are logged into the same Apple ID.

Do you use iCloud for Text messages at all? If YES then, on your MacBook Pro, open Messages ➔ Preferences ➔ iMessage Tab ➔ Sync Now : This will begin the sync process between iCloud and your iPhone. Hopefully that will capture your lost text messages.
