preview of .mov

The preview of .mov doesn't show anymore, preview of all other files are yet working fine/as usual. Anyone who knows why .mov doesn't show? I've upgraded to Catalina 10.15.7.

I've noticed that, since a few days, Option+Command+V, which I use to "cut+paste" as opposed to just "copy+paste", has stopped working. Procedure: select one file in Finder type Command+C in a different folder type Option+Command+V If I reboot my Mac the functionality, briefly, comes back. But after a little while, with no notice, it vanishes again. Plain Command+V works just fine but that's not enough. Has anyone any ideas on how to troubleshoot or resolve this issue? Catalina - MacPro opening file from Desktop I have just launched my new MacPro. I cannot open any file from the desktop, either by double clicking or using Control Open or Open With. I can open fine from within an application, such as Preview or Pages.

Quick fix for Quicklook not previewing files - follow up I continue to have an issue in Catalina where hitting the space bar (having single clicked on an image or video file) fails to provide a "Quicklook" preview, as it did in Mojave. This solution below from GonçaloCatarino, works for me (thanks Gonçalo), but after a certain amount of time, the problem then arises again, with Quicklook not working - even before my Mac has been restarted - in the same session. Anyone have any additional advice on I might add to this Terminal command to make it permanent, not temporary? sudo update_dyld_shared_cache -force --------------------------------- Answer from 2018 GonçaloCatarino Q: quick fix for Quicklook not previewing files This is not so much a question but rather a quick solution for this (somewhat frequent) problem: #1 - open Terminal.app #2 - Copy/paste sudo update_dyld_shared_cache -force #3 - it should take 1-2 minutes. It is our understanding from your post that you are unable to view .mov files in Preview. We recommend testing the issue while your Mac is in safe mode. The following articles have the steps you will need to test the issue in safe mode:

How to use safe mode on your Mac - Apple Support

"Safe mode prevents your Mac from loading certain software as it starts up, including login items, system extensions not required by macOS, and fonts not installed by macOS. It also does a basic check of your startup disk, similar to using First Aid in Disk Utility. And it deletes some system caches, including font caches and the kernel cache, which are automatically created again as needed."
