Vertical black line when taking a photo

Hi, I have an Iphone XS and up until today the front facing camera was working perfectly fine. Now whenever I take a picture there is a black line that comes up on the side of the screen, but when I zoom in it disappears. I haven't dropped it and it is a relatively new phone so I am not too sure how to fix it. I have shut down my phone and I have tried to factory reset but I am a bit unsure if that is going to help.

Do you think its a hardware issue, or should I try taking it to my local apple store.

Thanks !

If the line moves when you zoom or rotate then it sounds like a hardware fault on the sensor.

Your choices in my opinion are live with it and crop it out on edit, or apply for an out of warranty replacement phone from Apple store. This will be around 2/3 price of new, varies by location.
