After upgrading to iPadOS 14.2, my iPad no longer maintains a connection to a Bluetooth LE device I have. It connects initially, but the connection drops after about a minute.
Fortunately, I still have my old iPad which is on iPadOS 14.1, and it holds the connection fine.
Has anyone else had a connectivity issue with Bluetooth devices under OS 14.2?

I have a 1st edition iPad Pro. I have been using PUC+ and m.1 BlueTooth MIDI LE interfaces for years with my iPad Pro with no issues. With the installation of iPadOS 14.1, these devices will only stay connected for minutes and only after a soft reset. The upgrade to iPadOS 14.2 did not change the issue. I have a BlueTooth footpedal that still works perfectly. The issue is not with BlueTooth but specifically with BlueTooth MIDI LE. I have reported this to the Apple feedback channel. For now, I am having to fall back to a USB MIDI interface which still works fine, just requires more connections.
Have you tried to "forget that device" then re-pairing it?
Very interesting. Have you tried to contact Yamaha and ask them about compatibility with devices running the new iPadOS 14.2?

It's a Yamaha MD-BT01, which I use to connect my keyboard so I can have my sheet music displayed on the iPad.
It it works under 14.1, but doesn't under 14.2, I think it's a reasonable assumption that Apple is the problem, not Yamaha.
Yes, you're probably right that it's Yamaha who will have to knuckle under.
I'm just annoyed that it seemed so obvious where the bug was. How often does anyone have two iPads side by side? I know that the biggest problem in fixing bugs is being able to reproduce the problem. But mine is reproduceable.
Thankfully, I procrastinated on selling my old iPad, that I can now keep it, and work with it, until the problem is resolved.

I never used a BLE device, sorry.
My Covid19 tracing app uses BLE and is working fine, but it's just an app, not a device.
Just curious, what BLE device are you using?

I don't have that option, as it doesn't appear in the General>Bluetooth list (because it's LE?)
The app I'm using finds it, and I connect through there. There's no unpair option in the app, as there's no pairing procedure.

I don't want to blame anyone, but it's often the app developers (in this case Yamaha) who have to adapt their apps to the new operating systems, perhaps with an updated version, or, if it's hardware, with a new firmware.
That's why I asked you to contact Yamaha.
