I updated to ios 14.2 yesterday and now the XS Max won't recognize either the apple ID or the 4 digit passcode to authorize the download of a new app. What's the problem? Does this update have bugs?

App Store, iTunes Store, or other Apple services - If you can't connect
Some other things you can try. Do you have access to another WiFi network where you can try? That has worked for several people.
Try a restart.
Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
Try a forced restart.
If necessary
Do a backup and try a factory reset. Then restore from your backup.
Backup - Restore your device from an iCloud or iTunes backup.

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. It appears that you're running into a problem downloading apps. Are you able to sign into your Apple ID if you click that link? Can you tell us the error message that you receive when attempting to sign into your Apple ID? Have you ever used a different Apple ID in the App Store?
