typing lag on bluetooth keyboard during facetime call on IPad Pro 12.9 2nd Gen

I am running a bluetooth keyboard on my iPad Pro 12.9 2nd Gen. I can have multiple windows open in my browser and everything works fine. I can do the same thing and have a Zoom or Google Meet call going and it still works great. As soon as I am in a Facetime call, any typing I do has so much lag that it takes about 40 seconds to type three-four letters and sometimes they don’t all register. Could this just be an issue with my keyboard? It seems weird that it only happens when I am in a Facetime call. I know that the processing power of the iPad Pro has limitations but it doesn’t make sense that Facetime would take up so much that I can’t even type a few letters in a browser search. Any one else experience this with a bluetooth keyboard?
