Iphone error 0xE800000A on itunes

Hi guys,


I recently purchased an Iphone 12 and I encounter an error with the code of 0xE800000A on itunes.


I have tried several methods such as deleting the "lockdown" folder in my program data in apple, updated my PC but it still didn't work.


My itunes version is 12.6.3.6


1) Another method someone else suggest to me is to uninstall and reinstall my itunes. But will that delete all my itunes library file?


2) Are there alternative methods?

  1. Software is installed at one location, the library is stored in another. Removing the software leaves the library, device backups, and certain configuration information in place. Newer versions of iTunes may make changes to the database structure. If so the old library gets copied into the Previous iTunes Libraries folder. iTunes is always forwards compatible. Rolling back may require that you revert to an older version of the database.
  2. Yes, with 12.10.10 you are no longer able to transfer apps from the device into the library. Data related to apps is still included in device backups. If or when you restore a device the latest version of any apps that you have will be pulled directly from the store rather than from local storage. See About backups for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch - Apple Support. While you can transfer media purchases made on the device into library, media in general isn't included in the backup.
  3. That I'm not completely certain of. Apple have stopped supporting 12.6.5.3 so it is possible that at some point it isn't going to work with newer releases of iOS. I seem to recall others posting that it couldn't be used to upgrade a device to 14 but would work with it afterwards. Of course that would have been an older device, so no guarantees that the same will also apply to the iPhone 12.

Really appreciate the help.


I did manage to download 12.10.10 from Apple store and it replaces my existing Itunes. My Itunes library is still intact.

As for the App store that is missing from the recent Itunes version, I guess this is the best solution I have for now:

All my devices, I can use my apple ID to redownload it again, if I ever need it.

Thanks for the informative guide.


1)However, I still do not understand how uninstalling and reinstalling will leave my library unaffected. Since I'm removing all components to ensure a complete removal of existing Itunes to install a more recent Itunes. Unless you are suggesting a quick fix without removing all components?


2)I saw from your guide that 12.6.5.3 is the most recent Itunes that support apps etc. So the main difference with the 12.10.10 I tunes is the apps backup in Itunes?

I'm still able to backup music, contacts etc?


3)Lastly, is 12.6.5.3 compatible with IOS14 on Iphone 12 model?
