I'd like to use my personal computer for work as well, but want the 2 completely separate. As my personal apple ID goes to my phone and kids ipad's too, so I don't want work emails and work stuff to go to other devices.

To keep your data separate, create another user account for work. Use your personal ID in one user account and your work ID in the other user account.
