updated to 14.2 and it factory reset my ipad
I just upgraded my ipad to ios 14.2 and my ipad factory reset. I have lost everything on it. Has this happened to anyone else? Is there a way to recover my photos, etc.?

It has not happened to me, and I have no suggestion as to why it happened to you, but I might be able to suggest possible ways to recover photos and some other items.
If your iPad was connected to iCloud Photos, your photos should come back when you reconnect to that service. Similarly, contacts and calendar items stored on servers like iCloud or Google should come back.
If your iPad had been backed up to a Mac or PC, you should be able to restore much of the data from there. If it was backed up to iCloud, some of the data may be restorable from the cloud.
If the iPad was neither backed up somewhere or connected to any cloud service, a factory reset would have removed the last copy of its contents.
