I cant hear clearly on calls.

Whenever i make a phone call the volume is super quiet even if i put it all the way up and i can barely hear the person. however this problem doesn’t exist when i put it on speaker or facetime. i’m not sure if this is causing the problem but when i take videos in the camera app the audio gets quiet and muffled and randomly loud and switches between the three, but this problem doesn’t exist in snapchat or on calls so it doesn’t interfere with anything other than the actual camera app, so idk if this is contributing to the problem with phone calls or not.

It appears that you're having a problem with the microphone on your iPhone. You can barely hear the other person while on a phone call. If you make a video using the Camera application, the sound also gets quiet an muffled, then randomly raises again. You also note that this behavior isn't occurring in third party applications, and we're glad to help with this.

How to put your iPhone on vibrate, ring, or silent mode - Apple Support -- Go to Settings > Sounds & Haptics (Settings > Sounds if you're using an iPhone 6s or earlier). Make sure that the sound volume is acceptable, then turn off Change with Buttons. See if you're able to hear clearly on calls and videos.

If you hear no sound or distorted sound from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch speaker - Apple Support -- If you're still having problems with the sounds you hear, the steps in this article can help.

If the steps provided didn’t fix the issue, which model of iPhone are you using, and which iOS is it currently on? Also, if you remember, when did this issue appear (such as after updating, etc)?
