AirPod pro ear seal breaks when eating or exercising

Am I doing something wrong? I do the ear fit test and I get a good seal on both ears and then while exerting or eating the seal is broken. I have tried all sizes and the same thing happens. This never happened with the original airpods.

AirPods are hard plastic and don’t really seal your ear canals. They are designed to sit at the end of the canal.

AirPods Pro use the soft tip to enter the canal and form a seal.

If they don’t fit correctly, they don’t form a correct seal or stay in place.

I can only suggest you try foam tips to get a better seal. The tips from Apple didn’t really work for me, they would work their way out my ears after several minutes.

I got some Comply brand foam tips, they work much better for me.

Hello Jillygee,

Thank you for posting in the Apple Support Communities.

Having your AirPods Pro ear tips fitting properly and not slipping is important. Let’s see what we can do to help out.

Trying different size tips was the right first step to try. What about cleaning the tips? See “Clean the ear tips of your AirPods Pro” found in How to clean your AirPods and EarPods.

How long have you been using the ear tips? Do they appear they may need to be replaced? If you contact Apple Support they can help you with replacements.

Reach back out if you need us.

Have a great week!
