Storage for Ipad lite 2

I have too much memory in Media, and Books. I have tried to remove read books from my iPad but only get to the download symbol.

We see you're looking to free up some storage on your iPad. We can certainly understand wanting to get that managed, and we'd be happy to help out.

To start, we'd advise trying the steps on this page:

How to check the storage on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

This should help to remove any unwanted files or apps. If you're seeing a cloud symbol with a downward arrow next to an item, this may also mean that it isn't currently on the device, but can be downloaded later if needed.

Thanks so much for your reply. I have already tried most of those suggestions but not checked storage use through iTunes. I have too many photos for sure. I talked to apple and they suggested that I download photos to an external hard drive and that will free up space. Thanks so much for that link. It’s the most comprehensive list😊. I’m definitely saving it.
