I just bought an iPhone 14 with 256 G storage. The total storage used is currently 46.8G of 256G… but when I try to download a book into iBooks, it refused to download due to insufficient storage…. What is going on??

Troubleshooting iPhone Storage:
Try Removing Data from the iPhone itself...
Internal storage cannot be upgraded. It is what it is. So, the maximum internal storage capacity never increases, even if you upgraded your iCloud plan. Learn More here: What's the Difference Between Device Storage and iCloud Storage? Apple Support
So, what to do...
Use my two User Tips:
Our iCloud is 2TB and only using about 200G if space … it’s one of those things that doesn’t make sense :) if over the message again (likely in a few books ;) i can screenshot it …

sorry I didn’t take a screen shot and by removing an old app that let the book download … I would bet this message on my iPhone 12 also despite having lots of space on that phone as well (it had 128G).
i got a lot of storage so I would have to deal with this …. I don’t find the solution would be to “manage the storage as is suggested on the Apple care website. Do you have any advice ?
i will likely call Apple directly :) why get all the storage if it can’t be used …
I agree that with the amount of storage you have available, this should not be happening. Are you using iCloud with iBooks and the message was referring to iCloud storage?
Can you post pic a storage error you get when you download to iBooks?
