Why is the new alarm on iOS 14.1 so annoying to use? The scroll was great and timeless, and now there’s a tiny box that is fiddly and annoying to use, and if you try to scroll you can’t control well because you need to move so far outside the tiny little box. This is a shockingly bad design for something so simple!

If I start typing after tapping the + button to open a new alarm (without touching either box in the alarm time) I can type the whole time in without needing to select the next box. The same works if I tap Edit to change an existing alarm.

It is pretty poor

I actually prefer the new design as I find it faster to type in the time than the previous large scrolling entry, but you may want to give feedback to Apple via Feedback - iPhone - Apple
Touch and slide up or down the whole screen
Or tap the leftmost number and use the popup keyoad to type the time - very fast!
I will point out that with calendar and reminders you can type out the whole time eg 2230 but with alarm you need to type 22 then 30 in the next box which could be improved
