USB-C to Firewire 800?

I have an old (Late 2008) MacBook Pro with a Firewire 800 port and two USB-A ports. I recently purchased a third party USB-C external drive. I am using the USB-A ports already, so is it possible to adapt the USB-C drive to the Firewire 800 port on my MacBook Pro? Thank you for your help!

Need USB-C/Thunderbolt to Firewire 800 adapter I have been advised to obtain a USB-C/Thunderbolt to Firewire 800 adapter but can't find one anywhere! My goal is to put an iMac 27", Mid 2010. (iMac 11,3) with a Firewire 800 port into Target Disk mode and connect it to my MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2016) (MacBookPro13,3) I found this: Apple Thunderbolt to FireWire Adapter https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B008RXYOKY/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 .. but it's the wrong version of Thunderbolt so won't plug into the MacBook Pro. (MacBook Pro is Thunderbolt 3.) Can anyone guide me to the cable I need? Thank you.

No, you’re better off getting a powered USB-A hub and connecting 2+ devices to that.
