WiFi and WiFi assist not working

My iPhone SE 2020 is unable to connect to WiFi even when it is next to the router while all other phones are able to. I have done the routine procedure of restarting modem, restarting phone, forgetting the network and joining again but nothing seems to work. The WiFi assist does not know its work. Never switches to mobile data when the WiFi is poor. Is this is a fault with my device? Please suggest.
