unable to download Xcode from App Store

Hi, I am unable to download Xcode from my App Store on MacBook Pro macOS Catalina version 10.15.7. even though I have enough storage on it.

MacBook Pro shows ~39GB (available storage). Xcode is only 11GB and still doesn't download.

Hey there Amal3493,

We'd like to help however we can with this, but you may need to get in touch with Apple Support for further troubleshooting. Let's rule out what we can first:

  1. We see you have a good amount of storage left, and we agree, this contradicts the 11GB you mentioned that's required for Xcode. While you do have the latest version number for macOS Catalina installed(10.15.7), we wanted to confirm if any other updates appear when you check for them. You can do this by clicking on the Apple logo at the top left corner, then on System Preferences > Software Update.
  2. If a restart hasn't been tried since this started to occur, we recommend trying one now: Log out, sleep, wake, restart, or shut down your Mac
  3. Let us know if there are any issues downloading other apps besides Xcode.

We eagerly await your response, and take care until then!
