Bose Solo 2 sound bar

When setting up the Apple TV remote to learn the new sound bar it will not register the volume up and volume down button. One thing I did notice when I first hooked up the sound bar is that when I press the button on it it turned on the Apple TV I think it may just be the case to where the IR is programmed a similar signal so when you go to do the new learning remote it will not register the volume up or volume down this is a new sound bar I just bought at Costco two weeks ago I did not think I would have this problem and it's a real pain in the butt to have to use a different remote when I've never had this problem before with my Apple TV any help????
