I am not able to control the brightness on my phone from the control center. I can see the bar, but when I try to move it, nothing happens. I have restarted my phone and it is completely up to date on the software.

It sounds like you aren't able to adjust your iPhone's brightness using the Control Center toggle, even though the slider itself moves to your input. Are you able to adjust the volume or toggle Wi-Fi on/off using Control Center?
Are you able to adjust the brightness by using the Settings app?
