iPhone 12 is so slow

My new iPhone 12 is slow internally and especially when using the internet, even on WiFi. News feed won't even refresh. I'll try opening something from settings and it's even slow to open things that doesn't require internet. I'm constantly turning it off to see if this will help and it doesn't. I'm having a hard time using the internet even with the best wifi, it's almost dial up speeds to open a webpage. Is phone broken or is this normal? My old iPhone XS Max was 100x faster.

My iPhone 12 256 GB is slow. I don’t think I ever had a phone that was slower. If I turn off my Wi-Fi, it usually will connect to a website. I have a brand new iPad which connects fine. Everything except my iPhone 12 works great. I am wondering if it’s time to jump ship from Apple. I’ve read through many of these posts and there are multiple answers. I can’t believe asking my internet provider about 5G is marked as a solution. Maybe that top response has background I missed. I want to ask @Dogcow-Moof what he/she thinks is a good answer to “why is my iPhone 12 so slow on and off WiFi”. I picked you because I like dogs and cows and you have 7 stars. Lol. Those stars must mean you know about these things. I’d appreciate any help from anyone !!!!!!!

The 12 Pro Max is actually incredibly fast; for a phone this is quite impressive, faster than my 11 Pro Max.

We solved it. It’s not the phone it’s a new setting in ios14. Private address inside the i next to the network you are connected to. Turn it off and everything works well. It’s on by default

click the i next to your network

turn off KEEP PRIVATE

Don't know why it works but it does.

And I found it by googling “iPhone 12 slow WiFi” and found people describing the issue when the feature came out- none af them had iPhone 12s
