Just did this and then a test and it worked! Thank you! Let’s hope it continues to work.

I’ve been having the same problem for the past month or so. (Sprint). I think I may have figured it out, at least for now. Make sure to delete old voicemails, and if you have done that, scroll down and click on deleted voicemails and clear all. I had hundreds of voicemails sitting in the deleted file. As soon as I cleared them, new voicemails from days ago popped up. Hope this helps

Cellular data always on. This is not a simplistic problem. I and others have done every troubleshooting steps with carriers. This is not iPhone bashing. It is probably an interface issue. Great for you never having the problem! Those of us who do, have done the research and have no solution need helpful help.

Does Apple look at these threads?

No, this is a user to user forum; Apple’s participation is very limited. There are several ways to communicate with Apple:

Sometimes it is helpful to tell your Apple contact about a thread of similar problems, and they will look if it is mostly technical posts and not just rants.

My wife’s iPhone 12 Pro Max also has this same issue since upgrading from an iPhone 7 in Nov. I also upgraded from android to just the iPhone12 at the same time and dont seem to have the issue. Along with missing Visual VM (hitting *86 they are waiting at Verizon VM system) she is also at times not getting the inbound call and does not get any indication of a missed call.

We keep applying the latest iOS hoping the fix the issue. Verizon also sent us a single booster to install in the house because we only had 2 bars but problem seemed like it was fixed but still continues. I have about 4 technical support tickets opened with 3 of those escalated to higher level of support. Next I am going to push to see about getting a replacement phone.

I have sprint service For six years and I have the same problem. Very intermittent. Just today A voicemail Notification hit my phone from a two day ago message. It’s been a few weeks since the last time it happened. It was about a medical appointment so very poor timing.

Exactly. So at least 3 carriers, for years, a very serious problem. The common element is iPhone. It doesn't happen with my husband's Android. I can't believe it hasn't been solved. I can't believe Apple's lack of concern. They bounce you back to the carrier. But it's some kind of interface problem with multiple carriers.

I have never had a delayed voicemail notifications in the almost 14 years I have owned iPhones. I don’t know if this has been pointed out to you before, but you must have cellular data turned on all the time to receive voicemail alerts and updates.

A while back I took this problem to the Genius Bar, did troubleshooting (wiped the phone etc. ) and end result “It’s AT&T” but we now know it’s not. If I find the time/energy combo I’ll try Apple support, bring them to this thread. Or anyone having this serious problem could try.
