Hi teo214,
You might want to check out the following: If the microphones on your iPhone aren't working - Apple Support. If any of these methods dont work, you might have a hardware issue and would want to contact Apple Support (https://getsupport.apple.com) to book a service appointment or look at mail in options.
Cheers!

What do you mean by holding normally. Holding the phone normally with the earpiece at your ear, the microphone should be right by your mouth. Holding it upside would put the earpiece at your mouth and the microphone at your ear. Take a look at this image. The earpiece, that you hear with, is right next to #1, the camera. The microphone and speaker are on either side of #4, the lightning port.
If you are attempting to speak to the top of the phone, that is a earpiece, not the microphone. While there is a secondary microphone at the back of the phone for noise cancelling purposes, the microphone at the base of the phone is for phone calls.
The point is that the earpiece works all the time except during normal phone calls. Sorry for using the wrong names. People can’t properly hear me during calls but can hear me perfectly on viber, WhatsApp calls or whatever. I’m very concerned
I'm sorry, but the earpiece is for you hearing people, not the other way around. People are not going to hear your clearly on a phone call if you are trying to talk into the earpiece. You need to speak into the microphone at the base of the phone. If WhatsApp works with the secondary mic, which is actually at the back of the phone, not the front, that is well and good, but that is not how it is supposed to work.
I think you are having a hard time understanding what I'm trying to tell you. If people can hear you when you talk while speaking at the base of the phone, it is working the way that it is supposed to.
When I’m talking to people and holding the phone normally they can’t hear me. But it I start holding it upside down and talk to the bottom mic they can hear me. However how can I hear them unless my ear is on the front speaker? You got my question very wrong. To be clear, people don’t hear me properly during calls unless I put them on speaker. That’s it
Yes I’m holding it the proper way as you say, however people can’t hear me properly unless I put my mouth very close to it and the mic being straight in front of me rather than on the side like it is when people normally talk
What do you mean by upper microphone? Normal calls use the microphone at the base of the phone by the charging port.
I mean the microphone on the very top of the phone. If I talk to the one at the charging port it works. But the one on the top doesn’t. However during viber or WhatsApp calls it works perfectly
Then why people can’t hear me unless I hold the phone directly in front of my mouth and talk to the base microphone at the charging port?
I have tried reseting and everything including turning the noise cancellation off but they still don’t hear me properly
