Look at .flv and .swf files after Adobe Flash end of life

Hi, I have some .flv and .swf animations that I'd like to be able to look at offline. No browser required. How to do this after Flash end-of-life?

what I have so far:

  • a functioning standalone player from here, aka "Adobe Flash Player Projector Content Debugger" https://blog.bannersnack.com/download-swf-player/ (thanks much)
  • trashed "Adobe Flash Player Install Manager.app" from utilities after it tried to talk me into uninstalling flash
  • Adobe Flash preference in Systems Prefs "allow Adobe to install updates" unchecked
  • Etrecheck says I'm free of Genieo and such.

Will that be enough to keep looking at Flash files I already have, or is there a better solution?

thanks a lot!
